Moon Bar - Downtown Madison / State Street Area, Madison, WI

Can't recommend enough if you're looking for locally owned American eats and/or a few drinks! The service was great and super friendly, the bar was very nice. The natural lighting was beautiful and the place felt a lot bigger than it should, they even have stages for live music and said they plan to have local bands. They were nice enough to show me a large beautiful upstairs area that's available to rent out with a stage and DJ booth. I had the morning burger, and it was fantastic. A good portion for the price and it came out quickly. This place is great if you're gluten-free as well! Almost everything on the menu is available gluten-free.

Great food! Lively atmosphere! Owner tells us that only gluten free ingredients go into their fryer! They also use GF pasta. I had their Friday fish fry. Two nice sized pieces of fish (I think cod). The fish was really great, not greasy, just nice and crispy. I also had tots. Generous portions. You could have chips or fries as well. Love me some tots! They also had GF beer on tap and in cans from Alt brew. My husband is not GF. He had a burger and he really enjoyed that as well. It is definitely a college campus atmosphere, but clean and fun. We will be back!

Went here on a random Wednesday. The food was amazing and they really took care with my wife's celiac/gluten free. Nice to find some quality bar food where we can go just to grab drinks, throw some darts, and get food she can eat. We'll be back!

Love this new spot! As a UW alum, it's awesome to have a place that's great for students and grads to hang out. Staff is super friendly, food is way better than your average bar, and the vibe is perfect for Badger games. Definitely my new go-to when I'm back in Madison!

Got a patty melt at moon bar and it was one of the best I've had. Great place, with friendly owners and bartenders. Lighting and tv's looked great and had a lot of dart boards for people to play. Deals looked awesome, ready to go back to try the drinks!
